The Greatness in Others

Recognizing Our Own Greatness

We cannot recognize greatness in others unless we too posses that same quality in ourselves.

A person who is said to possess greatness stands apart from others in some way, usually by the size or originality of their vision and their ability to manifest that vision. And yet those who recognize that greatness, whether they display it themselves or not, also have greatness within them; otherwise, they could not see it in another. In many ways, the achievements of one person always belong to many people for we accomplish nothing alone in this world. People who display greatness rely upon others who are able to see as they do, to listen, encourage, and support. Without those people who recognize greatness and move in to support it, even the greatest ideas, works of art, and political movements would remain unborn.

We are all moved by greatness when we see it, and although the experience is to some degree subjective, we know the feeling of it. When we encounter it, it is as if something in us stirs, awakens, and comes forth to meet what was inside us all along. When we respond to someone else’s greatness, we feed our own. We may feel called to dedicate ourselves to their vision, or we may be inspired to follow a path we forge ourselves. Either way, we cannot lose when we recognize that the greatness we see in others belongs also to us. Our recognition of this is a call to action that, if heeded, will inspire others to see in us the greatness they also possess. This creates a chain reaction of greatness unfolding itself endlessly into the future.

Ultimately, greatness is simply the best of what humanity has to offer. Greatness does what has not been done before and inspires the same courage that it requires. When we see it in others, we know it, and when we trust its presence in ourselves, we embody it.

Going Vegan/Vegetarian

Of the 20 million tons of plant protein grown to raise cows only 2 million tons meat protein are produced. That means 18 tons of plant protein are wasted! The 20 million tons of plant protein could have reduced 90% of the world's yearly protein deficit for humans.

>Being a vegetarian would alleviate human starvation and in return there would be an increase in growth of wild animals without additional sufferings on humans or any other animals.

>By choosing the vegetarian or vegan alternative, the land used originally for farm animals would feed more people off of plant protein.

>Plants yield 10 times more protein per acre than meat.

>Chickens are raised in crowded, unnatural environments. There are usually 3,000 or more in one pen. The birds are not able to move about freely or even spread their wings due to the over crowding. They use "nests" made out of metal and they are bred by unnatural means.

>In order for hens to lay mass amounts of eggs, artificial light is on 17 hours a day. Each hen averages about 300 eggs per year. Once a hen's egg production declines they are slaughtered. Most hens live an average of 5 to 6 years.

>Veal calves are raised in cages on an anemic diet. The cages are so small that the calves cannot stand or even move in order to clean themselves. The veal calves are kept in the dark most of their lives within the cages. They are subjected to a cruel and horrid death.

EATING VEGAN In starting the transition to a vegan diet, there are a few different strategies. Some people shift into a vegan diet slowly, starting with vegan 'analogues'— plant-based foods whose taste resembles animal products. Still others concentrate on experimenting with entirely new vegan foods, often from international cuisines. Thankfully, there is no shortage of vegan foods to help make the transition. Historical figures who have been vegetarians include Mark Twain, Voltaire, Albert Einstein and William Blake.

Bootcamper says...

I have been participating in Nisa’s Boot Camp on and off for almost two years. I have realized that not only do the various exercises give me a slimmer waist line and tight stomach, but it also gives me an enormous amount of energy for the entire day. I also realized that my mood has been super. Sometimes it might be difficult to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to exercise, but once you start Nisa’s Boot Camp you realize that you become addicted. There is nothing better then starting your day with a good workout and getting into shape with Nisa and a group of other wonderful women. Running on the beach, lunging up hills and squats don’t seem so painful when getting to wach the sunrise and breatching in fresh saltwater air from the ocean. The support I receive from Nisa as a trainer and a friend is hard to come by and hard to find, and I’m so glad I joined
